Welcome to the Sunbury DORA!
Sunbury’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area—or DORA—allows adults age 21 and older to purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating establishment and enjoy it outdoors while visiting the historic Sunbury Square.
Purchase an official Sunbury DORA cup, explore downtown, visit our local businesses, enjoy a meal, and experience everything Sunbury has to offer.

Purchase your drink in an official Sunbury DORA cup from one of these participating establishments:
- Branch Pizza — 34 S. Vernon Street
- Firehouse Tavern — 38 S. Vernon Street
- District 13 — 45 E. Granville Street
- Surve — 6 E. Cherry Street
How It Works
1. Purchase
Purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating restaurant and ask for it in an official Sunbury DORA cup.
2. Sip & Stroll
Enjoy your beverage outdoors while visiting the historic Sunbury Square and participating businesses.
3. Dispose
Finish your beverage and dispose of the cup before leaving the DORA boundary or entering a business that does not permit DORA beverages

DORA Blackout Dates
The Sunbury DORA will not operate during:
- Memorial Day Market
- Independence Day/4th of July celebrations
- Labor Day Market
- Sunbury Sizzle & Sounds
Sunbury City Council may approve the temporary suspension or extension of DORA operations to accommodate special events within the DORA district.
Sunbury DORA Rules
- You must be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages.
- Purchase your beverage from a participating DORA restaurant.
- Your beverage must be served in an official Sunbury DORA cup.
- Keep your DORA beverage within the marked boundaries.
- DORA beverages are not permitted inside vehicles.
- Look for the sign displayed at each business before entering with a DORA beverage.
- You may not take a beverage purchased at one liquor establishment into another liquor establishment.
- Do not bring your own alcoholic beverages into the DORA.
- Dispose of your cup before leaving the DORA boundary.
- Please drink responsibly and follow all state and local laws.
